The vampire queen of Louisiana in True Blood is Sophie-Anne Leclerq. She will be played by Evan Rachel Wood.

She is FUCKING GORGEOUS!!

I'd hit that.

So cannot wait until Sunday when we get to meet her.

Alright, so I just saw the "lost" episode of Dollhouse. It's very good. My thoughts behind the cut. DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU'VE SEEN EPITAPH ONE!! I mean it Kasey!

Dollhouse 1x13: Epitaph One )
Soon I'll probably do a geeky write up on Torchwood: Children of Earth, but right now I'm recovering from the sheer emotional pain it caused me.

I have been squeeing over Hoyt/Jessica since episode 3 of this season of True Blood. They are just so adorable together. I think Hoyt might possibly be the sweetest guy ever. I love how in episode three Jessica's fangs come out and she gets so scared and upset by it, but Hoyt just tells her that she should never be ashamed of what she is and that he likes her a lot. I was just like "OMG HOYT IS THE SWEETEST GUY EVER!!". Plus he's all shy and nerdy in True Blood, so I of course must think he's absolutely adorable. And after Bill and Sookie catch them kissing and Bill goes all daddy and kicks Hoyt out of the house, Jessica says something that makes me squee: "I woulda been happy just kissin' him all night!" OMG YESSSSS

And then tonight's episode Jessica's feeling lonely in Dallas with Bill and Sookie (which must suck, I mean, she's got nothing to do with the job and has just kind of been forced to tag along into a dangerous situation), and she calls Hoyt up and just talks to him about a stupid comic book. I was just like "You two are just so socially awkward and cute and SQUEEE".

I mean, I love this show, but none of the couples had caught my eye until this, mostly because I already know what's going to happen to Bill and Sookie and the main storyline, so I watch for the secondary stories. And I FUCKING LOVE Hoyt/Jessica. My mom thinks they're adorable too.

Well, I should have known this existed, what with the recent lovefest everyone is having with Friendly Neighborhood Vampires. There is now a full-fledged Christian Vampire Novel. I'm not talking vaguely Christian undertones here, I'm talking teach the kiddies about Jesus vampires here. As in the end is neigh and this needs to be stopped. According to one reviewer on Amazon.com: "I was suspicious, but Ms. Dent has successfully blended the creatures of horror stories with sound Biblical principles. It teaches about faith and love without being preachy." I'm sorry, amazon reviewer, but anything involving Biblical principles and a vampire romance is TOO FUCKING PREACHY.

I'm not fucking with you here, this needs to be stopped on so many levels. As if it's not bad enough that faith-heads are co-opting secular music, now their hiding their religious retoric as genre fiction? Fuck that shit man, I don't want to be afraid to pick up a new vampire novel in case it might be another attempt at preaching.

How's about this, I won't fuck with you in your church (unless you're performing a gay exorcism then I'm going to point out how stupid and bigoted you are), you don't fuck with my genre novels, okay?

That goes for you too, Anne Rice, fucking traitor.

So today, according to SArmy, is Sylar Day. So right now I will plug SArmy a little bit.

Sylar's Army is an organization that was form on the official fanboards for Heroes over at 9th Wonders. It's original purpose was to protect and promote the character of Sylar, and Zachary Quinto who plays him. Eventually they branched into charity work, first supporting the Give Life Foundation (a group which Zachary Quinto supports), and are currently supporting the Epilepsy Foundation (which is the main charity that Greg Grunberg, another Heroes star, supports). All proceeds from SArmy merch goes to their current charity, and they do good work trying to spread the word.

If you like Heroes and want to support a charity, head on over to the SArmy website and check out their merchandise. Some of it's really cool.

Why support SArmy? Because it's so easy when you're evil:

Title: Gravesites

Author: Claramata
Rating: PG

Characters/Pairings: Sylar/Claire, mentions of other characters

Warnings: Character deaths

Word Count: 1,412

Author’s note: Written as an attempt to write something longer than a drabble. Unbetaed, and I’m not particularly fond of how it turned out, particularly because it’s pretty cliché in this pairing.

Anybody want to play an online version of exquisite corpse?

Rules:
I will post one full sentance and then start a sentance. You comment and finish my sentance and start one of your own. The next person comments your comment and so on. Try not to read too far back. Only read the last few sentances. This isn't supposed to actually make too much sense. It's just a fun little warm up exercise.

The first LiveJournal communities began in December of 2000, and now there's a community for any and every topic possible. What is your all-time favorite LJ community?

View 500 Answers

Wow, this question is really tough for me since I belong to so many cool communities and lurk on even more. So I'm going to separate them by fandom and give you a little discription.

Before you go through my list of nerdy fandom comms, my favorite none fandom community is [info]prompt_a_day , where you get a writing prompt every day to which you write a small little blurb (or more for) and comment with it. It's a great little warm-up writing exercise. So I guess that one would be my answer to the community question in general, but within every fandom I have a few favorite comms. I've listed a few here in case anyone wanted to check out the ones for their prefered fandom.

Mind you I haven't listed all the fandoms that I enjoy (or the list would be miles long. So there isn't anything for "Dr. Horrible" or "Repo!" or even the Buffyverse (Mostly because I don't really care that much about Buffy anymore).

Heroes Comms
[info]sylar_claire  For any and all Sylaire stuff. This is where I go for my fic
[info]heroes_macros  and [info]lol_heroes for Heroes-related LULz.

Doctor Who/Torchwood Comms
[info]time_and_chips For Doctor/Rose, which is my preferred ship in this fandom
[info]better_with_3 For Doctor/Rose/Jack, which is possibly even better
[info]songs_in_time For a more musically-minded Doctor/Rose shipper
[info]ihasatardis  for DW macros and [info]ihazastopwatch for TW
[info]jackxianto for the best TW slash pairing (and there are lots of those) Jack/Ianto
[info]torchwoodcoffee for Ianto love
[info]doctard Because it's freaking funny

Dollhouse Comms
[info]dollhousefics for fanfiction and weekly challenges.

Firefly Comms
[info]mal_river For anyone who's planning to end up in Special Hell
[info]_the_firefly_ Basic Firefly community.

Recently rediscovered what once was legitimately one of  my favorite songs: "24" by Jem. If you don't know what this song is, it's been used in a lot of trailers for the epic factor that actually has for some reason. The one's I can remember are "Ultraviolet" (because that came out while I was still listing this song as a favorite) and TNTs promos for their reruns of "Without a Trace".. There are more though.

Listen to it, for real. Even though it's a sad song, the music is epic (Violin riff of awesome blahblahblah).

What I'm wondering is why I can't find any good fandom videos to this song ;_;. It's sufficently epic, and also I can think off of the top of my head a lot of characters for whom the music makes sense for (namely any character that knows they're going to die before they do, or thinks they are going to die). C'mon people! Give me a Bones buried in the car flashing back video. Give me a Dollhouse video (since each of the active's different personas are essentially doomed). Give me a Heroes video, several characters would work. Hell give me some freakin' Doctor Who action on this one! ANYTHING.  Hell, I'll even bust out the old fandoms and say that Buffy and Angel are up for this one too!

C'mon fandom, I don't have the proper skills or software to do this!

This isn't like when I wanted a Sylar or Dexter video to "If I Was a Serial Killer" by ICP, this song is MUCH less silly and much less offensive.

You have failed me internet.

BTW: If anyone from one of my comms stumbles upon this and makes me a vid. I will reward with iconage or possibly ficcage (give me a prompt if you want ficcage)

Challenge in clearer format:

Make a video to "24" by Jem in any of these fandoms:
Bones (Brownie points if you include some Booth/Brennan)
Buffy or Angel
Firefly
Doctor Who or Torchwood (Brownie points for Jack or 9)
Dexter
Heroes
Repo!
Dollhouse

Ugh, this one is far too difficult for me come up with just five books. But let me try.

"Lullaby" by Chuck Palahnuik
"Mists of Avalon" by Marion Zimmer-Bradley
Even though this is probably cheating but my giant volume of of Shakespeare's collected works (it's one book, it weighs a metric fuckton but it's one book)
"1984" by George Orwell
"Girl, Interrupted" by Susanna Kaysen

This has just made my day, which I thought would be impossible seeing as how I'm snowed into my house with over 10 inches of snow outside.

I'm so going to buy a case and bring it out to picnics.... church picnics
